Cientos de aficionados se reunieron en el Centro Deportivo de Bell Gardens el domingo, 18 de mayo para ser parte del segundo “Entrenamiento en la Comunidad”, presentado por el Departamento de Recreación y Servicios Comunitarios de la Ciudad de Bell Gardens.

Hundreds of fans came out to the Bell Gardens Sports Complex Sunday morning to be a part of Chivas USA’s second ‘Practice in the Community’, hosted by the City of Bell Gardens Recreation and Community Services Department.

The many fans in attendance were treated to a close-up view of Chivas USA’s full team going through a training session, the morning after the Red-and-White earned a 3-1 victory over D.C. United. Immediately after the practice, supporters got a chance to speak with the players, take photographs, and get autographs from the team.

Chivas USA hits the road next weekend for a match against the Colorado Rapids in Denver on May 24 at 6:30 p.m. PT. The Red-and-White then return home for a match against the Columbus Crew on May 31 at 7:30 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center.

Chivas USA will face D.C. United this Saturday night, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center in a match presented by The Disneyland Resort. Free team posters and Mickey Mouse Ears will be distributed to fans while supplies last, and Mickey Mouse will make special appearances on the field prior to the game and at halftime.

The match will be broadcast live nationally on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports en Español, and the local radio broadcast will be on W Radio 690 AM, with pregame shows starting 30 minutes before the game on FSC and W Radio.

Joining Chivas USA for today’s training session was midfielder Michael Bradley (bio from Wikipedia), currently of SC Heerenveen in Holland and a regular with the United States National Team. The son of former Chivas USA Head Coach and current head coach of the U.S. National Team, Bob Bradley, Michael went through the practice wearing the number 35 shirt, and can be seen in the photos below:

“It’s nice enough of Preki and Mike Matkovich to let me come out and train. I know a bunch of the guys; Sacha, and Ante, and Jesse, so it’s great to be able to come out and keep myself fit.”

Today, May 14, is Kraig Chiles’ 24th birthday. The rookie out of San Diego State has been in one game so far this season, starting and playing 59 minutes against FC Dallas on April 20.

On Mothers Day at The Home Depot Center, a Chivas USA team missing three defensive starters fell 2-1 to the New England Revolution.

On Sunday, first-year defender Eric Ebert (Irvine, Calif.) and second-year defender Bobby Burling (LMU) made their first career MLS starts, Ebert playing 60 minutes at left back, and Burling playing 90 at right back.
