Ahead of Thursday night’s Honda Super Clásico between Chivas USA and the Los Angeles Galaxy, Chivas USA captain and renowned Mexican defender Claudio ‘El Emperador’ Suárez threw the ceremonial first pitch on Monday night’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies at Dodger Stadium. Throughout the 2008 Major League Soccer season, Chivas USA has been celebrating the ‘Year of the Emperor’ in honor of the legendary career of Suárez, who represented the Mexican National Team more times than any other player. Suárez, who recently launched his official biography in English and in Spanish entitled ‘The Story of a Warrior’ exchanged jerseys with Dodgers infielder Nomar Garciaparra.
