On the heels of a huge 3-1 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday, Chivas USA now turns its attention to a difficult road test at Toronto FC on Saturday. The Red-and-White will take a four match unbeaten run in MLS play (2-0-2) into BMO Field in Toronto for a game that kicks off at 1:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, August 7, and will be broadcast live on Prime Ticket, TeleFutura, and W Radio 690 AM. The match will mark the first time that Chivas USA has faced off against former head coach Preki, who has led Toronto to a 6-5-5 record in his first season at the club, good for third place in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, Chivas USA is finding its footing under Head Coach Martín Vásquez, as the team just finished a busy month of July with a 4-1-3 (W-L-T) record in all competitions during the month.

Chivas USA earned a win in its third and final group stage SuperLiga game, topping Pachuca 1-0 but falling short of advancing to the tournament’s semifinals. With the victory, the Red-and-White finish with a 1-1-1 record and four points, behind Houston (2-0-1, 7 points) and Puebla F.C. (2-1-0, 6 points).

Chivas USA and World Access for the Blind held a unique soccer clinic for blind children in Orange County on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Arena Soccer Park in Garden Grove, Calif. The clinic was led by a certified Chivas USA academy coach who tough the children basic soccer techniques. The event also helped to raise awareness of the blind and demonstrate that they can overcome physical limitations and enjoy sports activities such as soccer.
Chivas USA returns to The Home Depot Center on Thursday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m. PT in the team’s 2010 SuperLiga debut against Puebla F.C. of the Mexican First Division. The match could be the debut for midfielder Paulo Nagamura and forward Giancarlo Maldonado, who will be eligible for the team when the transfer window opens on July 15. After Tuesday’s visit to the Houston Dynamo, Chivas USA will then fly to Kansas City to face the Wizards in MLS Regular Season action on Saturday, July 10. The Red-and-White are coming off a 1-1 tie with the Philadelphia Union last Saturday, a result that snapped the team’s six-game losing streak. The meeting between the clubs in KC will be the first of the season, and in Chivas USA’s visit to the Wizards last season the result was a 1-1 draw. Chivas USA played to a draw in the first ever meeting with Philadelphia Union as rookie Blair Gavin scored his second goal of the season to tie the game in the 42nd minute. The tie broke a six game losing streak for the read-and-white as the team starts a busy week with road matches at Houston and Kansas City.
